Abstract:
A generalized Baumslag-Solitar group, or GBS-group, is the fundamental group of a graph of groups with infinite cyclic vertex and edge groups. After a review of definitions and basic properties, we will discuss the structure of GBS-groups with few GBS-quotients which are geometric, i.e., which arise from homomorphisms of graphs.
